What is blood and do we have midichlorians?
Ok to answer the second question first. No, we are so sorry but there is no signs of Midichlorians on any blood analysed to date, actually we don’t even know what to look for, perhaps if you’ve never donated blood before, and you do, an anomaly might be found and be regarded as a Midichlorian, and then you could start a Jedi order. If not, well, you did become a hero by saving up to three lives.
Good, now let’s get into what we all do have, blood. Well it’s a bodily fluid that runs through our bodies, and it’s main job is to take the oxygen we breath to each of our cells, now this is managed by the “red stuff” in our blood, and it travels on a liquid called “Plasma”.
There are different types of blood in the human population, that’s why the ABO and RH systems where created to compatibilize blood groups. And when you are in a surgery or involved in an accident that makes you loose blood you need it replenished ASAP. Most blood donations are used to help people with blood loss.
